“Yes, it was always going to happen. We just needed some fine-tuning. Priyadarshan, Akshay, Suniel—we’ve all been friends for years and we’re all passionate creatives.”

On May 18, Paresh Rawal posted on X (formerly Twitter) that he was stepping away from Hera Pheri 3. Rumors spread that he had creative differences with director Priyadarshan.
However, Rawal quickly clarified:
“I want to state clearly that my exit was not due to any creative disagreement. I have full love and respect for Mr. Priyadarshan.”
Just two days later, Akshay Kumar’s production company filed a Rs 25 crore lawsuit, accusing Rawal of sabotaging the shoot. Akshay, who now legally owns the Hera Pheri rights after acquiring them from Feroz Nadiadwala, is also producing the third part of the film.
